3/18/06 - Beta test in late April.  E-mail me if you're interested, I'll probably let you help out...

9/18/05 - I ended up getting a lot of work done over the summer, but the game's still not ready for prime-time yet.  This is a much more complicated project than AfterShocked! was, and though its development time is technically going to be much shorter, I'm packing a lot more work into that short time period.  The gameplay is nearly completed, save for a bit of tweaking which my beta testers should help with.  Cut-scenes are about 80% done, most of the voices have been recorded, most of the sound effects are in the game, and very little music has been completed.  Plus, there's still a lot of bug-fixing to be done and graphical touches that I want to add.  Despite my return to school, I've still managed to get a lot done during the past few weeks.  If work continues at this rate, the game could very possibly be completed by the end of the year.  Whether or not it gets released before the end of the year is a different story.  AGAST, the engine I'm using, has some small but quite annoying sound-related issues at the moment, which I would like to see dealt with before I can release the game.  So, here's hoping they get sorted out!  I've been in this situation before-- Long-time fans (all three of you) may remember that AfterShocked! was basically completed by the end of 2001, but couldn't be released in its final state until the next July because AGAST didn't have a working game-save feature at the time.  But no disrespect to the developers, who I really admire for their brilliant creation.

6/3/05 - I got very little work done on Between Heaven and Hell last semester because of my workload and other stuff.  But, it's the summertime, and I'm currently unemployed, so that means I get to spend a whole frigging load of time on the game.  And that's a very good thing, because I certainly need that time!  This game is a decidedly more massive undertaking than my last one, and that's really saying something.  I have been a bit stingy with putting up screenshots because I'd rather give away as little as possible, and also because the character lighting and a bunch of effects haven't been completed yet, so stuff doesn't look QUITE as it should.  But I posted another for your enjoyment.

11/29/04 - Progress update!  So far, 62 game screens have been completed-- that's more than half of what I intend the game to be!  Once all the screens are done, I will need to add in cinemas, more details and animations, music and sound effects.  So at the moment, the game is on track to be completed in the third quarter of next year.  Hopefully!

11/13/04 - Ever wonder how a real professional amateur game developer plans out the scenes in his games?  Well, wonder no more!  I present to you my plans plans for the tenth scene of Between Heaven and Hell!  Bask in the professionalism!  Also, I added a new screenshot.

8/21/04 - The official site of my upcoming game Between Heaven & Hell is up!  As of right now, the sections are all pretty bare.  There is, however, some information on the gameplay and storyline in "Game Info", and the first four screenshots have been posted as well.  Enjoy, and check back soon to track the game's progress!
